HOW DOES EPM WORK?

European pike masters is a team competition where anglers all over europe can measure up against each other.

The concept is simple. Fish where ever you want in Europe, catch pike - measure - take picture - upload picture.

HOW DO YOU COMPETE?

You register to the competition as a team, 1-3 persons. You may not be part of more than one team. If a member in a team becomes ill during the competition, dropout is OK. However, a member may never be replaced during the competition, neither in the qualify nor in the final.

It is of course perfectly fine to fish with people other than those who are part of your team as long as you do not enter their fish in the competition. It is also OK to participate in other competitions at the same time.

Its the five longest pikes (THE BIG 5) that decides your placement in the competition. Catch pike - measure - take picture - upload to europeanpikemasters.com where you also can follow the score live during the competition. You upload the pikes you catch the same day you catch them or as soon as possible. 
 

GROUPS  - After registration closes all teams will be devided in to groups (maximum 25 teams / group). The draw is completely random and have nothing to do which country you belong to. TOP 3 teams from every group ends up in the final.

REGISTRATION

Registration fee is 35€ per person (one measure board is included per team) and extra measure board can be bought for 35€ . Registration opens 21 August 20:00 CEST, register before 14th September 23:59 CEST to get your start package in time for the first weekend of qualify. All teams registered after 14th September will have their packages sent out the 1st of October (after the start of the competition). Registration is open to 25 September 23.00 CEST

We recommend everyone to register in time as we cannot control the post's delivery times.

WHERE TO FISH?

In any European water where its allowed to fish for pike. No put & take waters.

Local fishing regulations/rules apply.

FROM WHAT CAN YOU FISH?

There is no limits regarding platform. Just follow the rules where you fish.
 

EQUIPMENT

Permitted fishing methods is spinn, jerkbait, fly, jigg/dropshot, trolling and deadbait. 

Only one active rod per person is allowed. No restrictions regarding electronics.

WHEN DOES THE COMPETITION START?

The qualify round for the groups is 27 September - 26 October 2025. When the competition jury announce the result there will be 3 teams from every group going to the final 1-2 November -2025 (also in any European water).

CATCH & MEASURE THE PIKE:

ITS UP TO YOU AS A COMPETITOR/TEAM TO TAKE PICTURES IN A WAY THAT CONFIRM THAT THE MEASURING TOOL IS USED CORRECT. DO NOT PUT THE MEASURING DEVICE ON THE PIKE!

Unclear images can be disqualified or drop a few cm.

Take your photos so that its clear that the mouth is at zero and that the tail fin is clearly showing the specified length.

Always put the jaw to the left against the stop and the belly down so we can se the correct side of the fish.

Minimum length for pike is 70 cm.
 

YOU NEED TO USE EPM OFFICIAL MEASURE BOARD FROM 2025, ONE PER TEAM IS INCLUDED AND YOU CAN BUY EXTRA FOR ALL IN THE TEAM FOR 35€/PP (you can't use a old measure board).
 

1. Take a picture of the pike against EPM OFFICIAL BOARD displaying your start number that you will get 28 September 08.00 CEST TIME 

2. Take a picture of you holding the pike, both sides is ok. No startnr is needed in this picture.

3. Upload both pictures on the app FISHY LIVE and login with your code you got when register.

4. The pikes is reported in full cm meaning that 100.9cm is 100cm.

5. A pike can only be registered one time / team during qualify no re catches is allowed.

6. Take the picture from ZERO on the measuring device and up not from the side.

7. If the mouth of the pike doesn't touches the measureboard white stop/angle at zero inches can be lost.

8. Make sure that we can se enough pattern of the fish to be able to judge if it is a recapture 

Make sure that the pictures is convincing and beyond doubt or you might lose some inches or the picture might be unusable. Stretch your the measuring board or inches can be lost.

It is always the competition management who ultimately determines whether a fish can be approved or not. We do not, however, thumb on the above rules. This is to make it fair to everyone and to eliminate cheating. Think of the rules above - and take some extra photos to be sure.
 

Note that the result is temporary until a competition jury has reviewed it after the competition end date. We will check reports continuously during the competition period, but even if we do, there is a chance that the results list will change at the end of the competition after a final review by us. 

The total length of the five longest pike over 70 centimeters may be included in the competition. If two teams have the same total length, the team with the longest fish wins. Should it also be the same length, we look at each team's second longest fish, etc. If all 5 pikes have the same size we will look at pike 6, 7 etc so make sure to upload all your catches that kan maka a differens. If a team does not receive 5 pike over 70 cm, it is of course possible to compete with smaller numbers.

During the course of the competition you can, on the results page, keep track of you and the other teams placement in the competition. 

UPLOAD YOUR CATCHES:
We will use the app FISHY LIVE for all reports. Its free and you can find it in appstore etc.
In the app, you can upload your catches, follow the results and see comments on your denied fish and make changes.​
You can ofc use your cellphone gallery to upload pictures. All catches is "auto approved" and can be removed at any time if they are not correct documented. When qualify and final reporting is closed its GAME OVER and no changes can be made. So make sure to report your catches correct with start number etc.

CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY - TIGHT LINES!

• Europeanpikemaster.com reserves the right to use the participants' catch images for their own use in marketing.

• The participants takes part in Europeanpikemasters at own risk

• The organizer is not responsible for any deaths, accidents or injuries.

• It is up to the competitor to be responsible for their own insurance. 

• The registration fee is non-refundable.

• The participants are responsible for having a valid fishing license in the water being fished and following the rules of the water.

• We ALWAYS recommend life jackets.

• If a team has consciously cheated, that team will be disqualified.

• If you want to put the measure board on a self-made board to make sure it stays completely straight, this is perfectly OK, but you need a "stop" similar to ours that is at least 5cm high. The measure board can not be cut.

FINAL
The finalists will be presented shortly after the qualify is over.
In the final you need to show start number + prefix (a word you get 08:00 CET on day 1 of the final) on all measuring pictures.
Otherwise, the rules are the same in the final as in the qualify.
